Original Concept + AI-Enhanced Stylized CG Production

Case Study: Designing a 30-Second Emotional Experience for Hello Screen

Workflow & Tools Used

1. ChatGPT – Prompt Refinement & Structural Support

The core idea, story arc, and voiceover script were entirely my own. I developed the emotional concept, metaphor, and scene flow from scratch — including the transition from frustration to clarity through visual storytelling.

I then used ChatGPT to refine the narrative rhythm, polish the voiceover language, and help translate my creative vision into detailed prompts for image generation and animation. It served as a creative assistant, not an originator

2. DALL·E – Stylized Illustration & Color Definition

I used DALL·E to generate handcrafted 3D-stylized images with claymation-inspired textures for all characters and environments. It also helped define the core color palette for the emotional tone of the piece:

  • Soft beige: #F1EAE3 (warmth and softness)

  • Dusty orange (jacket): #D18357 (energy and approachability)

  • Muted green: #8CA48B (calm and trust)

  • Cloud white: #F7F7F7 (clarity and peace)

  • Sky blue: #B7D8F4 (lightness and freedom)

  • 3. Photoshop – AI-Driven Corrections & Cleanup

AI-generated visuals often have artifacts or inconsistencies. I used Photoshop’s Generative Fill (AI) and Content-Aware tools to correct details such as:

    • Hand distortions

    • Facial asymmetries

    • Background alignment

    • Expansion of frames for camera motion

This ensured visual consistency and realism without breaking the handcrafted aesthetic.

    4. Premiere Pro – Assembly & AI Effects

The editing and final assembly were done in Adobe Premiere Pro, where I used:

    • Auto Reframe (AI) for perfect 9:16 vertical composition

    • Scene Edit Detection for cutting and repositioning AI clips

    • AI-powered Lumetri presets to match light and tone across assets

    • Essential Sound panel for noise reduction and voice leveling

These tools allowed for dynamic flow and enhanced control over timing and transitions.

    5. CapCut – Voiceover Production (AI Voice)

I generated the entire voiceover using AI voice synthesis in CapCut, selecting a deep, calm male tone that conveys emotional maturity and trust. This allowed me to shape not only the content, but the delivery and rhythm of the message, reinforcing the storytelling arc.

CapCut was also used to add:

    • Subtle background ambient tracks (wind, birds)

    • Soft transition sounds

    • Light echo reverb to support dreamlike moments

Ad Type & Strategic Approach

This project falls under the category of emotive branded storytelling advertising  designed not only to inform but to evoke a shift in feeling. It is ideal for top of funnel product awareness, positioning HelloScreen as a smart, easy to use solution by connecting with a deep human frustration: the struggle to explain complex things over the phone.

Rather than using a technical or corporate tone, I chose to present HelloScreen through an emotional, metaphorical lens showing how it feels to use the product, rather than just telling how it works.

Voiceover Strategy & Emotional Structure

The entire script was written to follow a 3-act emotional arc, guiding the viewer from frustration to resolution:

Full Voiceover Script:

“The days of struggling to explain your offer over the phone… are over.
With HelloScreen,
everything gets easier.
Now, talking to your clients feels like riding a bike through the clouds smooth, light, and effortless.
With just one click, you can share slides, images, or live demos directly to their phone screen  no links, no downloads.
Say goodbye to confusion, endless follow ups, and cold leads.”

Why this structure works:

  • Tension (Act 1): Begins with a shared pain

  • Solution (Act 2): Introduces HelloScreen as the turning point

  • Metaphor (Act 3): A dreamy transformation (bike through the clouds)

  • Clarity (Final): Product promise with clean closure

Voice Design (AI):

I generated the voice using AI in CapCut, choosing a deep, calm tone to reflect empathy and stability. It creates emotional authority without sounding salesy, echoing the relief HelloScreen brings.

Visual Style Selection

I selected 3D Stylized Character Animation with Claymation-Inspired Texturing (also known as Handcrafted Stylized CG) for three key reasons:

  1. Emotionally expressive: This style enables clear, readable facial expressions and emotional exaggeration — ideal for showing frustration and joy in a short time.

  2. Handmade warmth: Its clay-like, handcrafted texture gives it a human touch, evoking warmth, softness, and approachability.

  3. Brand alignment: It avoids the cold, overly polished look of tech ads, aligning HelloScreen with modern storytelling that feels relatable and premium.

PART 1 — Frustration & Reveal (The Hook)

Scene Description:

We begin witha clay-textured 3D animated character, clearly angry and overwhelmed while holding a phone. This is raw emotion, visually exaggerated but instantly relatable. Then comes the reveal: a real  hand is holding a phone, and this angry character is just a video playing on the screen.

Camera & Visual Technique:

  • Shot: Starts in medium American shot, then performs dolly-out with arc to reframe from POV

    Prompt used:

“3D stylized clay puppet character sitting on a couch, angry facial expression, handcrafted textures, warm lighting, cinematic tone.”

Lighting & Sound:

  • Warm, side lighting  with strong shadows under the brows Tense ambient hum to create discomfort.

Voiceover Line:

“The days of  struggling to explain your offer over the  phone… are over.”

PART 2 — The Real User (Peace Behind the Chaos)

Scene Description:

The hand pulls away and reveals a real person  calm, smiling, centered. He holds the same phone, seated in the same space. This is the actual  HelloScreen user confident, focused, and in control.

Camera & Visual Technique:

  • Shot: Over-the shoulder that transitions into

  • medium close-up

  • Motion: Slow dolly-in to

  • deepen emotional connection, smartphone screen filling the frame, playing a 3D stylized animation of a clay textured character visibly frustrated. A smooth match cut transition follows, where the animated content gently fades and a realistic hand holding the phone enters the frame from below.

The camera starts with a frontal close-up of the phone and then performs a slow dolly-in combined with a slight crane-up, gradually revealing the upper body of the real user. As the camera moves forward and lifts, the viewer sees a calm young man sitting on a couch, holding the phone with both hands, watching the screen with a relaxed, confident expression.

The shot settles into a medium American shot (head to mid-thigh), focusing on the user’s face and posture. The environment is soft and warm, featuring cozy indoor lighting from the side (golden hour tone), a subtly blurred background, and a natural earthy color palette (beige, soft green, muted orange). The user’s facial expression is gentle and peaceful, conveying control and clarity. He’s tightly gripping a smartphone with both hands, slightly leaning forward. The lighting is warm and ambient, with subtle shadows cast from a side table lamp.

The camera starts in an close-up of the phone in his hands (top-down angle), then performs a smooth arc shot counterclockwise rising around his arms and shoulders, revealing his full upper body in a medium American shot. The final frame captures his angry expression in focus as he looks at the phone screen.

Emphasize handcrafted surface details (soft edges, tactile imperfections), emotional exaggeration, warm indoor color palette (mustard, brown, soft gray), and cinematic depth of field.

Lighting & Mood:

  • Warm, evenly lit with soft background blur

  • Color palette of soft beige, muted orange, sage green

Voiceover Line:

“With HelloScreen, everything gets easier.”

PART 3 — Biking Through the Clouds (Dream Metaphor)

Scene Description:

The screen ripples into a dreamlike transformation. Now we see the user riding a bicycle through the clouds, one hand holding the phone, smiling peacefully. A metaphor for how effortless using HelloScreen feels.

Camera & Visual Technique:

  • Shot: Wide shot from behind

  • Motion: Crane-up + 180° arc to face front

  • Prompt used:

The scene begins with a dreamlike ripple transition. The user is now riding a bicycle through soft white clouds in the sky — a metaphor for clarity, ease, and peace of mind. He’s holding a phone in one hand while riding calmly and confidently. His posture is relaxed, and his clothes and hair move gently with the breeze.

The initial framing is a wide rear shot, showing the user from behind as he pedals forward into the open sky. The environment is filled with bright, diffused lighting, fluffy cloud layers, and soft ambient movement in the background.

As the user rides forward, the camera performs a smooth arc shot (semicircular tracking movement), traveling from behind the subject to the front, gradually revealing his face. During this motion, the camera maintains cinematic fluidity and focus, ending in a medium American shot from the front. His facial expression is joyful, serene, and fully immersed in the experience.

Visual style remains consistent with handcrafted 3D stylized animation, clay-like textures, soft color tones (light blue, white, soft peach), and subtle depth of field for a dreamy yet emotionally grounded aesthetic.

Style & Atmosphere:

  • Light blue skies, soft white clouds, subtle wind movement

  • Warm sun flare and breeze in hair/clothes

Voiceover Line:

“Now, talking to your clients feels like riding a bike through the clouds smooth, light, and effortless.”

PART 4 — Product Utility: One Tap to Everything

Camera & Visual Technique:

  • Shot: Wide shot from behind

  • Motion: Crane-up + 180° arc to face front

  • Style & Atmosphere:

  • Light blue skies, soft white clouds, subtle wind movement

  • Warm sun flare and breeze in hair/clothes

NO DOWNLOADS. NO LINKS. JUST RESULTS.

It’s the punctuation to the journey — clear, strong, memorable.

Visual & Sound Design:

  • Text: Bold sans-serif, centered, spaced letters

  • Camera: Static, slightly pushed in

  • Audio: Calm final chime + fade out
